She had never been aboard a ship before, and the journey had not been kind to her. It had been three nights full of feverish vomiting from Kanto to Sinidad. Once there, she had literally fallen onto the cold ground, and wept. She swore internally she would never take a boat anywhere again.
Unless it was a cruise... She had always wanted to take a cruise...
No! Not even a cruise! Not even if the most beautiful man in the world was going to pay her way and accompany her. She would never set foot on a boat for as long as she lived. Or, at least, until she forgot what her own vomit tasted like.
Finding the lab had been simple, because transportation had been offered to it. Now that she was here, she could only stare, ears twitching in a panicked motion. She had done this before. She wasn't new to this experience, but something felt different this time around. More... Hopeful, it seemed.
She tugged her tail into her hands, combing through it with slim fingers and humming to herself. This region was different when it come to what sort of Pokemon they offered as starters. They gave you ten different choices. That was incredible to her. You could also keep ten Pokemon in your party legally, which was even more fantastic.
Grinning a toothy grin, she strode towards the doors, not even hesitating as she entered. The warmth that greeted her was wonderful, and the Pokemorph sighed with relief. Calling out, she bounced towards the desk. "Hey! I'm Murphy! I'm here for a Pokemon!"

It had been a normal day in the lab for Ellie, the normal routine of checking on the Pokemon they had ready for trainers (of which there hadn't been much of lately), working on a couple of experiments and doing a TON of paperwork. Said paperwork was clasped in her arms as she stumbled down the hallway, brown hair a complete mess and glasses falling out of her pocket. She barely ever remembered to keep paperwork or glasses with her, she'd either forget one or the other, but today she was having a good day and was even running on schedule for once, about to take her completed work to the main room.
As Ellie walked past the large doors that lead into the front area of the lab, she heard a voice of a girl. Stopping in her tracks and struggling to hold the sheer mass of paper in her arms, the lab assistant backtracked a little to come back in front of the door. Opening it slightly, she peered her head around to see the fuzzy outline of a girl making her way towards the desk. Almost forgetting she had glasses, she shifted the papers into her left arm whilst whipping out her glasses with the other and placing them on her face, just in front of her honey-brown eyes. Those eyes widened in surprise as she got a good look at the girl; she was a Pokemorph, obviously fused with a Eevee, and her appearance had caught Ellie a little off-guard. It was not every day you saw a Pokemorph, but she was still a trainer looking for Pokemon and so the lab assistant had to do her job.
Walking towards the girl, she dumped her paper on the front desk before smiling at the girl, "Hi there! I'm Ellie, Lab Assistant here, and I'll be giving you your first Pokemon today!"
Smiling quickly at the girl again, she walked towards the front desk that had her pile of paper on, typing some quick words into the computer before beckoning the girl over to show her the choices she now had.

Murphy couldn't hold in her own giggles as the messy woman stumbled into the lobby. Ears and tail perking up instantly, she watched the lab assistant peer around the gigantic stack of papers in her arms and put on her glasses. Though this woman was a little more subtle, Murphy was so used to receiving stares that it wouldn't have bothered her had the assistant actually verbally taken noted of her obvious Pokemorph features. Murphy had only met two other Pokemorphs in Kanto aside from herself, one actually occurring from natural birth. Now that was something she didn't really understand, but we won't get into that sort of thing today.
The girl rocked back and forth on her heels as the woman spoke, nodding her head frantically, the tip of that great tail twitching playfully. She was more than excited to receive her new friend. She placed small hands on the counter after smoothing her chest fur carefully, leaning in to see her options.
To her, they all looked wonderful, but one stood out to her. The little Deerling attracted her far beyond the more powerful or capable Pokemon available. She smiled softly, running over the information she had memorized about this Pokemon. She had studied Deerling because of its multiple forms. After all, that sort of thing was the reason she even was who she was. Though Deerling's multiple forms weren't permanent, and although she may never herself change, she sensed a great comradeship with this species without ever having met one, and the choice was made almost instantly.
"Oh, please pleas please give me that Deerling, I need it." She blurted out, leaning across the desk and touching her index finger to the picture of the normal/grass type.

Ellie let out a sigh as the girl stared at the screen, choosing her Pokemon. She'd never been able to work the computers very well in the past and she was surprised it hadn't blown up on her. It didn't help the the computers themselves always wanted to be problematic and not work, which never helped in her already helpless state when working with technology. The lab assistant reached up to her pile of papers on the desk, nudging her glasses up her nose as she tried to straighten the pile so it at least looked presentable. She almost fell back at the sudden movement and exclamation from the girl.
"Alright! I'll go grab it for you now." She laughed, finding the girls over-enthusiasm quite entertaining. It wasn't everyday you saw someone this excited by something and she was revelling in the excitement radiating off the girl. Turning away, she left her pile of papers on the desk before jogging away back through the doors. It only took a few moments before she re-appeared, bag full of supplies and Pokeball in hand. Ellie smiled at Murphy, handing her the Pokeball before opening the bag to show her the inside.
"So, in this bag you have your basic supplies. You have a few Pokeballs, some potions, a TM case and a Pokedex. Money-wise, people will often give out freebies to new trainers but after about a month you'll have to start buying for yourself." Ellie then closed the bag, passing it over to the Pokemorph, once again a smiled plastered on her face.

The bouncing on her heels continued as the woman disappeared to retrieve her items. She was already weighing names for her new companion, and was especially excited to be a part of the seasonal change that Deerling experienced. That was the most exciting part. Maybe by traveling with this Deerling she could learn more about evolution, and maybe she could send information back to her Papi. She knew he wasn't exactly noted by the scientific community, and if she found out something herself, she wouldn't mind at all to let him take the bragging rights.
When the woman returned, she barely seemed to pay attention to what she was saying, simply nodding her head as she ruffled through the things she was given. She removed the Pokedex and slid it into one of the pockets on her dress, before beaming up at the woman. She stuffed the Pokeball into the bag and threw it over her shoulder. "Thanks a lot! I'll make sure to ask for free stuff everywhere! Okay, bye!"
It probably would have come off as rude as the girl skipped away and exited the building, but anyone with mild observation skills could see that she was literally jittering to start her journey. As quickly as she had come, Murphy was gone.
[BOARD CLOSED. Thanks Kyrie!]
